You may have many questions about adoption if you are not in a position to parent right now.
- Can the birth parents select the family that they think would be best for their baby?
- What is the difference between “open” and “closed” adoption?
- Can birth parents have contact with their child after the adoption?
- What if birth parents change their mind after making an adoption plan?
We want you to have a supportive, caring environment to get the information you need as you and your partner consider whether to prepare an adoption plan for your child’s future. We can set up a private appointment so you can find the information you need. We work closely with private adoption agencies and can arrange for you to meet an adoption counsellor who is committed to supporting both parents to ensure everyone’s options and rights are understood.
Planning an adoption for a child can be emotionally difficult. We offer support throughout the entire adoption process and after the baby is placed for adoption. The decision to place a child for adoption can be made anytime during the pregnancy or even after the baby is born.
