As newcomers to Canada, Giri and Kanaka were ready to start building their lives together. When they found out they were pregnant, overwhelming fear about their future began to erupt. Being new to Canada with no family around, and with Kanaka having no health insurance or work, the couple felt that abortion their only option.

However, while meeting with the Pregnancy Care Centre, Giri and Kanaka found out that they had access to far more resources and supports than they realized. They decided to parent their child and have found solutions to all of the obstacles they had encountered. They are very happy now and want others to learn about the supports that the PCC has to offer.
